1971 Plymouth Scamp - Phase III
This is where the Scamp started to take on the look that we were shooting for.  In this phase the interior was completely redone with upholstery, carpet, stereo system, steering wheel, dash pad and dash mat.  New tires and Chrysler Rallye wheels were also installed to give the sporty look.

These pictures were taken about 1 year from the purchase date.

With east Boise on the horizon, the front of the Scamp with the new Cooper
tires and small bolt pattern Rallye Wheels.  At this point the grill had also
been replaced.

These pictures without the sun make the color difference on the front fender
even more noticable.

Hey, is that the new dual exhaust I see?  You bet... bought off a 72 Dodge
Dart for $50.  New front and rear shocks were also installed at this point.

The new interior.  Black carpet, black door panels, black headliner and the
new seats which are black with gold accents stripes.  The front seat is out
of a 72 Dart and contains the fold down armrest.

The dash also encountered some changes.  These include:  a new black
dash pad from a 76 Dart sedan, a black dash mat, new steering wheel
(which I think is too small) and a Pioneer Premier AM/FM CD player.  The
black strip rolling down the center of the dash is not stock and was used
to cover a cutting error while installing the stereo.

Here is a door panel which includes a Pioneer Premier 6.5" coax speaker
sitting on a 1" spacer.  The spacer was used to keep the window from
hitting the speaker magnet.  Not the most ideal position for a speaker,
but the choices were not many.  Also, the metal areas above and below
the door panels were painted body color.  New arm rests were scavenged
off a 71 Valiant sedan.

Here is the rear seat area.  Not much to say here.

Not obvious in this picture are some internal items such as rebuilt heads,
new pushrods and new lifters.  More obvious is the washer jar and
chrome valve cover vent.
